For a friend

I’ll never forget a girl who was one in a rare gem.

She was considered an outsider to some,

but to most, she was a friend and a sister.

And to the teachers, a daughter.

On the day of the graduation ceremony, she and most of the others never showed up.

There may by some reasons why some people never show up at their graduation.

Maybe because of a crises.

Or maybe something of a vice that may got them disqualified from the ceremony.

The one true reason why my friends never came to the ceremony was because…

They did all they can to earn that Adult High school diploma and didn’t want any recognition nor credit from the crowd.

I guess that’s the same thing my friend Elise thought.

In every one of our conversations I often ask her if she had ever heard of a Beethoven piece called Fur Elise.

The child(she was about 18-19 years old) told me that she never heard of the song before in all of her young life.

I promised the little girl  when I caught up with her, I’ll give her a copy of the song.

It has been years now.

I’m sad to say that I have found the song;

but was much too late to show it to her.

As an on again-off again Piano-woman and a huge fan of the sleeper anime Piano: The Melody of a Young Girl’s Heart, I wanted to share this song to a young woman who will always carry on the spirit of Mulan.

This one’s for my friend, Elise.

Enjoy the gift!
