Published May 31, 2009 by ladyserenity92

Saturday, May 30th, 2009 was the day of my art class. The art class was a manga/anime drawing class. I did a few drawings of faces and met some new friends. If only there were more manga/anime drawing classes offered at the YMCA/YWCA.

I love to draw! 😀

Exodus Tyson/A brief word on ‘A Gentleman’s Kiss’

Published May 27, 2009 by ladyserenity92

Good morning, Star Shinners! It’s good to be back on the old blog. I want to beging with a tragic update on Mike Tyson’s daughter, Exodus. I’m sad to report that the little girl passed on yesterday. Exodus was 4-years old. People, please keep this child and the Tyson family in your thoughts and prayers as they face this time of crises.

Yesterday on YouTube, I finally saw the trailer for Shinri Fuwa’s manga ‘A Gentleman’s Kiss’. So far the story between two lovers from rival Yakuza gangs have sparked a small following in the boy’s love circle. I’ll keep you posted on how the story turns out.

Please post a list of Shinri Fuwa’s titles and other June Manga titles that are out there. Thank you so much!

In my little world

Published May 26, 2009 by ladyserenity92

Good morning, friends! I hope you all had a safe and wonderful Memorial Day. Remember this, we must remember the men and women who sacrificed their lives for us for our freedom. Please, take time to thank them.

On the radio, I heard that Mike Tyson’s 4-year old daughter is in the hospital fightnig for her life. She had an accident that involved a treadmill cord and it wrapped around her neck. Keep your thoughts and prayers for Mr. Tyson and his family.

I’m halfway though with Dr. Michio Kaku’s Parallel Worlds. Its been a great book so far. I’m getting ready for the summer reading program. There’s one bank that giving out $10 for ten books read on the list. I don’t know if it’s just for kids only, but I’ll check it out.

Nothing at all (Rare song)

Published May 24, 2009 by ladyserenity92

This song was playing in my head, so I decided to post it on my blog.  This song was on the Sailor Moon Luna Rock CD back in 1999(?) and it was a lovely song. I don’t have permission to the lyrics, so don’t copy these lyrics.

I would like to know where I could get the Sailor Moon Luna RockCD. I would be grateful to anyone to post in their suggestions. Thank you. Enjoy the lyrics.

Nothing at all

You’ve been there for me. No matter what the cost.

My best friend, since we believed in Santa Claus.

You have always stood beside me.

I will promise this to you.

I will be the one who hears your prayers.

Don’t ask me how, I’ll do.

I’ll be the friend you’ll have to do without.

Oh. When you have nothing at all, you’ll still have nothing to worry about.

Oh, nothing at all.

When I was lost inside a forest of dismay,

You taught me how just to help me find my way.

In a world that’s so uncertain,

I will promise this to you.

I will be the who hears your prayers.

Don’t ask me how, I’ll do.

I’ll be the friend you’ll have to without.

Oh. When you have nothing at all, you’ll still have nothing to worry about.

Oh, no. When you have nothing at all, you’ll still have nothing to worry about.

Oh, nothing at all. Oh.

I have the video of the song in color!

The Chink and the child/ Jackie’s Dragon

Published May 22, 2009 by ladyserenity92

I watched the movie Broken Blossoms and read the story by Thomas Burke (The Chink and the Child.) Now, I want to find the book called Lime house Nights: Tales of Chinatown. It is a short story collection written by Thomas Burke himself. Can anyone please tell me if the book is still available or out of print. I would love the book to go with my reading list.

After I watched Broken Blossoms and read The Chink and the Child, I was haunted by a short story that I’ve written long ago that has some what of a modern day similarly to it. The story was called Jackie’s Dragon.

With Broken Blosoms/The Chink and the Child, the releationship is between an adult Chinese man and a twelve year old child named Lucy. In Jackie’s Dragon, the relationship is between two children. A Twelve year old boy and a ten year old girl.

The Chink and the Child took place in the 19th century. Today, if an adult man were in a relationship with a child, he would be arrested on the spot. In the modern day version of Jackie’s Dragon, Jackie (10) and Greg Xing(12) treat their relationship as a brother and and sister, but realize that the relationship is drawing closer to that of love.

The Chink and the Child takes place in London; Jackie’s Dragon takes place in 21st century Hong Kong.

The couple in the Chink and the Child are a Chinese man and an English child. The couple  in Jackie’s Dragon is a lonely Black girl and a strong willed rebellious Chinese boy.

Unlike The Chink and the Child, Jackie’s Dragon is a fantasy-drama. Greg has a dragon named Yue. And the dragon Yue becomes attached to Jackie, knowing that when Greg turns 13, he can no longer  become his companion.

In the Chink and the Child, the enemy in the story is Battling Burrors(Lucy’s Father).

In Jackie’s Dragon, the enemy is The Dark Master and the Cops. The Dark Master in all in the children’s head as Greg has made him up; for the Dark Master is Greg’s own father, a police officer.

I don’t want to give away too much information on Jackie’s Dragon. You’ll just have to read the story once I finish it. 🙂

Over my head (Cable car) by The Fray

Published May 21, 2009 by ladyserenity92

Out of the many songs from The Fray that I loved the best happens to be the song Over My Head(Cable car). I first got hooked on The Fray by listening to a music video using the manga Constellations in my Palm. I have loved The Fray ever since. I’m still trying to find the manga Constellations in my Palm.

I believe the the book Constellations in my Palm  is out of print due to low sales. I hope the manga company brings the book back.

I’ve always wanted to meet the group. (I love you guys!)

Stayed Tuned.

Give The Fray a listen. I know that you’ll love them and their music.

A little note

Published May 20, 2009 by ladyserenity92

I’m finished with following in other people’s shadows.

I have had it with the gloom of television.

I’m very sad that the news has overlooked two little boys who killed themselves after being bullied.

I’m fed up that the monster who drove a 13-year old little girl to her self-death is roaming free and unremorseful for her actions.

I enjoy being a secret fujoshi fan.

I don’t know why are some people are banning books when they should be banning corporal punishment.

I don’t get why a police officer is smiling and taunting a family about hurting an innocent 14-year old child.

Think about this little note.

Akira and Cromartie High School

Published May 19, 2009 by ladyserenity92

One is a masterpiece and the other is just a dud. I like Akira for its action and psychological elements. As for Cromartie High School, it was just a bore to me. Why would I want to see a bunch of sixteen year old boys make clowns of themselves?

I love Akira so much. It was the second time in my life seeing it. I have to sit thought more of the Cromartie High mess to get to the point. Please help me. I’ve got two reports about my earlier post about Hell Girl. In one episode that made me cry was the episode that I wanted to write my novel on about a girl and her teacher meeting one year after his untimely death. I wanted to write it so much.

Well, take care!
